Description

This cornmeal bake is a comforting dish perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Gradually whisk in the cornmeal, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  3. Continue stirring and cooking until the mixture thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in butter and salt until well blended.
  5. Let the mixture cool slightly. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35–40 minutes or until golden and set in the center.
  8. Serve warm straight from the dish.
