Description

Deliciously soft donuts filled with a creamy strawberry cheesecake filling and topped with a sweet glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup strawberry jam
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in warm milk.
  2. Add remaining sugar, flour, salt, butter, and egg. Knead until smooth and slightly tacky.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover and rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Roll dough to ½-inch thickness. Cut into rounds and rest for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Heat oil to 375°F. Fry donuts for 1–2 minutes per side until golden. Cool completely.
  6. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Fold in strawberry jam.
  7. Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth.
  8. Pipe filling into cooled donuts. Dip tops into glaze and let set.

  • For a richer flavor, use vanilla bean paste instead of extract.
