Crispy Chicken Tacos

Description

Delicious crispy chicken tacos filled with shredded chicken, cheese, and spices.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 4 oz can chopped green chilies (drained)
  • 1 Tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 small tortillas
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Fill a large skillet with about 1 inch of oil. Heat over medium high heat, until about 360º F.
  2. In a bowl mix together chicken, green chilies, taco seasoning, salsa, and cheese until evenly combined.
  3. Heat flour tortillas in a towel, for 45 seconds or until they are warm and don’t crack when you fold them.
  4. Fill each tortilla with about 1/4 cup of filling, spreading into a thin layer. Roll up and place seam side down on a plate or baking dish.
  5. Place 4-5 rolled tortillas into the hot oil and cook for 4-5 minutes, turning to make sure they are evenly golden brown.
  6. Remove and place them on a paper towel lined plate to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • These tacos are best enjoyed fresh and hot.
  • You can add toppings like sour cream or guacamole if desired.
