A delicious strawberry chocolate layer cake perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup strawberry puree
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Divide batter into three bowls: mix cocoa powder into one for chocolate flavor, strawberry puree into another for strawberry flavor, and leave the last as plain vanilla.
- Pour batters into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans before transferring to wire racks.
- Once cooled, stack layers with frosting between them and cover the entire cake with frosting.
Notes
- This cake can be served with chocolate or strawberry frosting.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
